NVIDIA (NVDA) reported $96.2bn of revenue for its fiscal second quarter of 2027 (May–July 2026), double a year earlier, and net income of $59.7bn. The balance sheet in the 10-Q filed August 26 carries another number that moved with that revenue: accounts receivable — sales made but not yet paid for — of $63.1bn, up 55% from three months earlier.
What happened
NVIDIA (NVDA) makes the chips that power AI data centers and, with Tesla, is one of the two most widely held U.S. stocks among Korean retail investors.
Its 10-Q for the fiscal second quarter of 2027 (April 27 – July 26, 2026), filed August 26, shows quarterly revenue of $96,221m — 2.1 times the $46,743m of a year earlier and 18% above the prior quarter's $81,615m. Gross margin was 75.0% and net income $59,688m, 62% of revenue.
The balance sheet in the same filing carries a number that moved with that revenue. Accounts receivable — products sold but not yet paid for — stood at $63,059m on July 26, against $40,710m three months earlier on April 26. That is a 55% increase in one quarter, three times the growth in revenue (18%) over the same period. Note 7 describes the payment terms: "Payment from customers is generally due shortly after delivery of our products. In certain cases, for investment-grade customer purchases, we have and may in the future provide longer payment terms ranging from 90 days up to one year to assist customers with large data center builds depending on size."

On the condensed consolidated balance sheet as 'Accounts receivable, net'. Prior points: $40.7bn at April 26, $38.5bn at January 25 (10-K) and $27.8bn at July 27, 2025. Quarterly revenue is on the statement of income.
Is rising receivables a problem?
Receivables naturally grow with revenue. What this article examines is whether they grew faster than revenue and what payment terms the company disclosed. How that can be read is explained in the subscriber section.
Has the company failed to collect?
Nothing in the 10-Q says so. The company states that longer terms are offered only to investment-grade customers. This article reports the disclosed facts.
